Crank it up, Pete Bower Hi there all: Yes it would be great to have a PIR style of race here in the valley. As to the comment on the POS style of racing on dirt. I am not trying to annoy you. But you need to remember cycling history here in the US. Most of the very early closed course racing was done on dirt tracks, then they moved to wood tracks. Besides there are at least 3 other closed course road race tracks in Oregon, those could also be used for cycling. Which in turn would open up other regions of Oregon to competitive cycling. PIR is the only one that is currently being used for cycling. Also remember that alot of the early racing in Europe was also done on the dirt and rock and cobble stone before paved streets were around. One another thing to think about is the possibilities of using a oval dirt track. This is where the trackies, roadies and yes the mountain bikes could all ride on a closed course. Ever thought of the fun you could have on a dirt velodrome. Take care all and keep smillin.
