My what a stinky mess this has turned into.

My original message was in no way critizing the effort that was put forth=
by
the students that put this race together. People make mistakes and for t=
he
first race of the season, everything did go smooth. What I don't agree w=
ith
was the manner in which this mistake was downplayed. My original message=
was
intended to be half humorous or I wouldn't have had any :) in it. This i=
s the
beginner class and if it happens to any class, let it be us. We are not =
in it
for money and in all honesty this class is intended for learning. As the=
20
of us hiked back up the hill with bike in hand, we were all joking about =
how
we got more ride for the money.

It really wasn't that big of a deal. I had a great time and didn't leave=

upset about the ride. Everyone standing talking about how they were goin=
g to
'take care of us' is what was frustrating because you can't undo a mistak=
e
like that. The magic i was referring to was intended to once again be
humorous because there is no way to fix it except to refund the entry fee=
=2E

If this is how excited everyone gets about constructive critisism and poi=
nting
out when someone downplays a mistake then I am in the wrong sport. All I=

intended was to point out that more people where affected then what was
originally stated. Maybe an apology to the huge oversite on the staffs b=
ehalf
and an explanation of why it happened would have been in order. I know o=
ne
thing absolutely, the riders that went down that path were not happy and =
it
certainly wasn't their fault it happened. That shouldn't be downplayed. =
=

Yes, they did an amazing job. No questions about it. A mistake was made=
- no
harm done. Live and learn but dont brush it off as though it never happe=
ned
or it will happen again.
