First of all to my friends OBRA Chat, thank you very much for your
encouragement and answering what might seem to you dumb questions!
By this time on Saturday I will have my tricycle! It is a bright and
bilious yellow; so that the old fogies in my convalescent center will spot
it; and so that there bicycle thieves will not want to take it! I have
decked it out with extra headlights so that I can see at night!
To my family in New York and my family in Florida and Maine, I know
that you have heard this before I intend to loose weight and regain my
health! Many of you have forgotten or didn't know how much I loved pedaling
from Morris Plains in New Jersey to George Washington's headquarters east of
Morristown!
Well recently some of my family out here Laughed at me, when I said that
I was going to give up the use of my car with the exception of when I must
go to the Vancouver V.A.!
My bicycle is here now and 98% assembled, so I will be picking it up
after my trip to the V.A. Tomorrow! I know that in about 2-3 years I will
be able to pedal down to Portland but, I'm not sure; at this moment; about
my ability to to scale Terrwilliger Boulevard!
But I do want to remind you "That he who laughs last laughs best!'
To my former clients remember how bull headed I was as a P.I., I was not
supposed to heal from two strokes and a heart bi-pass!
To my new friends at OBRA, if you see a white haired fellow on a Yellow
Worksman tricycle around Longview or Rainier, give me a shout of
encouragement! My near and dear here have actually laughed at me! You'll
find I'm a friendly guy!
Love to my family and my respects to my old and new friends.
