Subject: Last Estacada Time Trial
Date: 04/27/2005 05:16 AM
From: Geri Bossen

This Sunday is your last chance this year to do an Estacada Time Trial.
Last Sunday was beautiful.

We have use of both parking lots and the upper "real" toilets.

We give out beautiful ribbons to the top three places in each Category.
Something to show off at work next Monday!!

We have arranged for every junior racer to take home a ribbon they can show
off at school on Monday.

Last weekend we had a family of four (Mom, Dad, son and neighbor boy) show
up to do their first race. I adjusted their helmets, pumped up the knobby
tires on their fendered mountain bikes and they all had a blast racing. The
mom even took home a ribbon in her cat.

One mom and one dad have followed their young junior racers each weekend.

Two women have traveled each weekend from Washington to race.

Several of the guys have races two categories back to back. One guy raced
his recumbent then raced his regular bike. We can time your starts so you
can do two 10 mile races if you want.

This race is extremely new people friendly. So bring out your neighbors and
friends who have always wondered what it would be like to do a race.   Any
one who can ride 10 miles can do this race. (Kids need to be at least race
age of 10 ask if you have questions) There is only one small rise in this
10 mile course. See profile on ETT flier--it is just the first 5 miles of
the profile. (flier at obra.org on the schedule for this Sunday)

Online registration is still open until Friday at singmeup.com (there is a
fee for this service.)

You might still have time to get your registration in the mail ($12).
(address on the flier)

or if you cannot register on line or via the mail,
e-mail to me:
your name
OBRA #
cat racing

I will put you on the list and you can pay ($15) and sign the waver at the
race.
If you have a start time you need only arrive in time to sign a waver, pay
and warm up. Check in is open all day.

If your name is not on the start list you will need to arrive between 8:30
and 9:30 to get on the start list.

The first version of the start list will be posted on Friday. The final on
Sat. Times will likely be similar to the last two races.
